2-Minute Drill
- The Bulldogs play their second home game of the season as they welcome Charleston Southern to Johnson Hagood Stadium.
- Saturday's game will kick at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
- Kevin Fitzgerald will be on the call. He will be joined in the booth by Dominique Allen and Emily Crevani on the sidelines.
- The meeting is the 12th all-time between the two schools. The Bulldogs leads the series 6-5 after a 43-14 victory in the season finale last season.
- The game is the second of a four-game series that extends through the 2021 season. All four games of the series will be played at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
- The Bulldogs picked up their ninth all-time victory against a FBS opponent with a 27-24 overtime victory over Georgia Tech.
- The win over the Yellow Jackets was the first in 11 meetings and the first against an ACC team in 23 games.
- Kicker Jacob Godek booted a 37-yard field goal in overtime to give the Bulldogs the victory over GT. It was his second make of the game. He hit a 47-yarder with less than two minutes to play to give The Citadel the lead.
- Quarterback Brandon Rainey through a touchdown pass in the first quarter and rushed for a score in the third quarter. It marked the fourth-straight game he has rushed for and thrown a touchdown in the same game.
- Wide receiver Raleigh Webb was on the receiving end of Rainey's touchdown against Georgia Tech and has caught a TD pass from Rainey in each of the three games this year.
- Defensive lineman Joseph Randolph II recorded a pair of sacks against GT, including one on third down in overtime.
- Charleston Southern enters the week with a record of 0-3 after a 21-17 loss to North Carolina A&T in its home opener.
- The Buccaneers are being outscored 145-44 in the first three games. They are also allowing 583.7 yards per game.
Inside The Numbers
320 - The Bulldogs rushed for 320 yards in the victory over Georgia Tech. It is the second highest total this season, and the highest total against a FBS opponent since rushing for 350 yards against South Carolina in 2015.
41:50 - The Citadel controlled the clock against Georgia Tech as the Bulldogs held the ball for 41:50. The Bulldogs held the ball for at least nine minutes in every quarter, including 11:25 in the second quarter and 11:52 in the fourth quarter.

Jacob Godek kicked a 37-yard field goal in the first overtime to give the Bulldogs the 27-24 victory over the Yellow Jackets. Godek kicked a47-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter to give the Bulldogs a lead.
9 - The victory over Georgia Tech was the ninth win over a FBS team in school history. It is the first win against the ACC and the first FBS win since a 23-22 win over South Carolina in 2015.
1 - The victory over Georgia Tech was the first in 11 games against the Yellow Jackets. It was also the first win against a current member of the ACC.
On This Date
In 1996, Lorenzo Jackson returned an interception 58 yards to seal a 28-14 victory over Western Carolina inside Johnson Hagood Stadium. The victory was the first conference home-opening win since defeating Appalachian State in 1993. It was also the first conference victory since the 1994 season.

The Bulldogs came in at No. 25 in the STATS FCS Media Poll. This will be the first game played as a ranked team since Oct. 14, 2017.

The Bulldogs and Buccaneers are meeting for the 12th time with The Citadel holding a 6-5 advantage in the all-time series.
Last Year vs. CSU
After Hurricane Florence postponed the game a few months, the Bulldogs scored a pair of special teams touchdowns in a 43-14 victory. The Citadel scored on a blocked punt and a kickoff return from Raleigh Webb, to go along with a safety from Aaron Brawley.
-3 Rushing Yards
In last season's game, The Citadel held the Bucs to -3 rushing yards. It was the third fewest yards allowed in program history.
Scoring 6 Different Ways
The Citadel scored six different ways in the last year's victory. The Bulldogs got a pair of rushing touchdowns, a touchdown pass, a safety, kickoff return, blocked punt return and two field goals.
Godek Wins SoCon Honor
After kicking game-winning field goal at Georgia Tech, Jacob Godek was named the Southern Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. Godek won the game with a 37-yard field goal after giving the 'Dogs the lead late in the fourth quarter with a 47-yard field goal.
Godek Walks Off Tech
Kicker Jacob Godek kicked a 37-yard field goal in overtime to give the Bulldogs a 27-24 win over Georgia Tech. The field goal was his second of the game. He hit from 47 yards out to give The Citadel a 24-21 lead with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.
First Win vs. Georgia Tech
The Bulldogs collected their first victory over Georgia Tech in 11 meetings. The Citadel had lost the first 10 games before knocking off the Yellow Jackets in overtime.
Win vs. ACC
The streak against the ACC is over. After losing the first 22 meetings against teams from the ACC, The Citadel knocked off Georgia Tech in overtime.
Murdaugh Leads Scoring Drive
Brian Murdaugh stepped into a big spot and helped lead the Bulldogs to a victory over Georgia Tech. Murdaugh led The Citadel on an 11-play drive in the fourth quarter that put the Bulldogs ahead late. He also put the Bulldogs in position to win the game in overtime. He carried the ball 11 times for 21 yards in his first significant action.
Dante vs. the FBS
Dante Smith has three rushing touchdowns in his career. All three have come against FBS opponents. Smith scored from 12 yards out late in the first half against Georgia Tech. Last season, he scored a pair of touchdowns against Alabama.
Rush and Throw TD
For the fourth-straight game, quarterback Brandon Rainey rushed for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass in the same game. The redshirt junior scored on a 22-yard run and 30-yard pass in the upset of Georgia Tech.
