How it Happened
- The Bulldogs got on the board first as they converted a 10-play drive with a 45-yard field goal from Colby Kintner.
- USF answered back on its next possession with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Jordan McCloud to DeVontre Dukes.
- The Citadel put together its second 10-play scoring drive in the second quarter and capped it with a 41-yard field goal from Kintner.
- The Bulls took advantage of a special teams mistake to score a touchdown and then closed out the half with a nine-yard touchdown run from Noah Johnson.
- USF scored the only points of the second half with a three-yard touchdown run from Kelly Joiner in the fourth quarter.
Inside the Numbers
- The Bulldogs offense rushed for 200 yards. It marked the seventh time in the last eight games against FBS opponents they have rushed for at least 200 yards.
- Seven different Bulldogs carried the ball with quarterback Brandon Rainey shouldering most of the load. The senior carried 20 times for 65 yards.
- Raleigh Webb added 50 yards on a pair of reverses.
- Four bulldog running backs got their first carries of their careers. Keefe White rushed nine times for 41 yards, Logan Braucht rushed for 35 yards on 13 carries, Cooper Wallace gained 11 yards on five carries and Darique Hampton had four rushing attempts.
- Rainey completed four passes for 84 yards.
- Ryan McCarthy caught two passes for 44 yards and White added two catches for 40 yards.
- Willie Eubanks III led the Bulldog defense with 12 solo tackles. He added three tackles-for-loss and a sack.
- Sean-Thomas Faulkner added 10 tackles, nine solo, and two tackles-for-loss.
- Marquise Blount and Dewey Greene IV each added a sack.
- Freshman Colby Kintner had a very successful debut as he connected on each of his first two career field goal attempts. He hit from 45 yards on his first attempt, and followed it up with a 41-yarder in the second quarter.
