CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball teams hits the road for a pair of matches against Atlantic Coast Conference foes. The Bulldogs will take on Virginia Tech on Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. and Virginia on Sept. 18 at 6 p.m.
Â
The match against the Hokies can be seen on the ACC Network, while the match against the Cavaliers will be aired on ACC Network Extra.
Â
"This week we get to play two really big ACC teams, not only in size but athleticism," said head coach
Dave Zelenock. "In the SoCon, playing it safe and ball control are a big deal, but when you play teams that are physically so much bigger than you, you really have to take risks and go for it. So we've spent our time serving as tough as we can, and on offense and defense, really taking risks and being comfortable if they don't work out. I think being able to train in both environments is really going to pay off for us in the spring as we compete for a SoCon championship."

This week's matches will mark the first meetings between the two schools in volleyball. The Bulldogs have played five previous matches against the ACC. The Bulldogs are 0-3 against NC State, 0-1 against Clemson and 0-1 against Georgia Tech.
