CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team gave No. 12 Pitt all they could handle Thursday afternoon, keeping the Panthers scoreless for just over 82 minutes and forcing the Atlantic Coast Conference team to overtime, but the Panthers managed to find the golden goal in the 93
rd minute to secure the 2-1 win.

Zoey Conrad scored her first collegiate goal after
Suzuka Yosue passed the ball forward from close to mid field. Conrad accepted the pass, turned up field and fired off a shot from just outside the box.
83' – Kate McKay scored a header off an assist from
Anna Rico and
Hannah Knych to tie the game back up.
93' – Pitt's leading scorer,
Amanda West, scored off a penalty kick to secure the victory for the Panthers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams worked through a scoreless first half with each team notching four shots.
- The second half saw Pitt open up a 10-4 advantage in shots in the first 25 minutes of the period, but the Bulldog defense and freshman keeper Jess Newton stood strong.
- Conrad broke open the scoring to breathe fresh life into the Bulldogs.
- Despite the equalizing goal coming in the 80th minute, the Bulldogs continued to keep the pressure up for the remainder of regulation, and had several chances at getting some offense going.
- Pitt moved to 5-0-0 on the year, setting a program record, after West scored her team-leading fifth goal of 2020.
- Yosue led the Bulldogs with three shots, while Logan Dix, Leanne Bryant and Conrad each took a shot.
NOTABLES
- The game against Pitt marked the first time an ACC and ranked foe visited WLI Field.
