CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team returns home to McAlister Field House to take on Samford on Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. and Mercer on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Bulldogs enter the weekend with an 8-6 overall record and a 4-4 record in conference.
Split Road Weekend
The Citadel is coming off of a 1-1 road weekend with a come-from-behind, five set win over league-leading UNCG and a tough loss to Western Carolina. The Bulldogs were led by
Sharlissa de Jesus who recorded 36 kills, 21 digs, and three service aces.
Delancey on a Roll
Middle blocker
Gina Delancey defeated a program record by going four-straight matches without an error. During those matches she has recorded 26 kills on 51 swings and an average .510 hitting percentage.
Scouting Samford
Samford who was picked as the preseason favorite, enters the match with an overall record of 4-15 and a 3-5 conference mark. The Bulldogs had lost 5 straight matches before sweeping Furman in their last home match. Kenya McQuirter leads the offense with 3.83 kills per set, while Lauren Deaton is averaging 3.36 kills per set.
Scouting Mercer
Conference leading Bears are on a six-match win streak with an overall record of 11-8 and a conference record of 7-1. The Bear offense is led by Taylor Lynch, who is averaging 2.67 kills per set. Libero Megan Smith is averaging 4.36 digs per set.

The Bulldogs will return to action with a string of four road-matches. The first will be on Oct. 27 in Spartanburg, SC to take on Wofford.
