CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team opens Southern Conference Tournament action on Friday in Birmingham, Alabama. The No. 7 Bulldogs are set to face No. 2 UNC Greensboro in the first round. The match is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Bulldogs enter the weekend with an 11-11 overall record and 7-9 in conference play.

The Citadel has an all-time tournament record of 2-7. The victories have come in our two most recent tournament appearances. The Bulldogs have the highest seed they have seen in current tournament format (switched in 2014).
Ruffin Brings it Home
Outside hitter
Ali Ruffin was named the Southern Conference Freshman of the year Thursday afternoon. Ruffin is the first Bulldog in program history to receive the honor. She has recorded 234 kills, 228 digs, 30 blocks, 24 service aces and 22 assists.
One More Time
The Bulldogs and Spartans split the season series with each team winning on the opponent's home court. The Citadel defeated UNCG earlier this season after overcoming a two-set deficit, but UNCG won the most recent match-up in four. The Spartans enter the tournament with a 23-6 overall record and a 12-4 conference record. UNCG is led by Southern Conference Player of the Year, Kayla White. White was received the honor after recording 437 kills and 47 service aces this season.
