NCAA MATCH NOTES

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Citadel plays its first NCAA Tournament game in program history as the Bulldogs travel to face No. 8 Georgia Tech on Dec. 3. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the O'Keefe Gymnasium and will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Bulldogs enter the tournament with a 9-12 overall record and ended conference action with a 7-9 record. 
 
SoCon Honors
Freshman, Belle Hogan, was tabbed Southern Conference Setter of the Month and Sharlissa de Jesus was named Offensive Player of the Month. 
 
Making History
The Citadel women's volleyball team made history as the Bulldogs became the first women's program in school history to win a conference championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament.
 
Last Postseason Appearance
The Citadel's trip to the NCAA Tournament marks the school's first tournament appearance since the football team made back-to-back appearances in the FCS Playoffs in 2015 and 2016.
 
Series With Georgia Tech
Friday's matchup with Georgia Tech will be the second all-time meeting between the two programs. The only other meeting happened on Aug. 29, 2015 in the final match of the Georgia Tech Tournament. The Yellow Jackets won the match, 3-0.
 
Scouting the Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech enters the tournament with an overall record of 23-5, including a victory over No. 3 overall seed Pitt. Julia Bergmann leads the offense with 450 kills, while Mariana Brambilla is second with 418. Setter Matti McKissick has 1,155 assists, while libero Paola Pimentel has a team-best 301 digs.
