MACON, Ga. – The Citadel volleyball team hits the road for the first time this spring as the Bulldogs travel to face Mercer on Feb. 14-15. Sunday's match is set to begin at 3 p.m., with Monday's match getting underway at 6 p.m.
The Bulldogs enter the week with a record of 3-6, 1-3 in SoCon action, while the Bears are 4-5 overall and 3-1 in SoCon play.
The Citadel vs. Mercer
The two teams are no strangers to the court this season as they have already met twice in non-conference matches during the fall. The teams split the two matches, with each winning 3-1 on their home court.
Quest for 1,000
Sharlissa de Jesus continues her quest to become the eighth Bulldog in program history to eclipse 1,000 career digs. She enters the week with 960 digs in her career. de Jesus already has over 1,000 career kills and will be the fifth Bulldog with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
King Climbing Charts
Mellanie King is also on her way to reaching a milestone as the senior has 911 kills in her career. She is on her way to becoming the sixth player in school history to eclipse the 1,000-kill plateau.
Dyanmic Duo
In the Bulldogs last outing,
Sharlissa de Jesus and
Mellanie King became the first teammates in program history to each record 20 kills in a match. de Jesus finished with 27 kills, while King added a career-high 20 kills.

The Bulldogs are off next weekend before returning to action Feb. 28-March 1 at Wofford.
