Bulldogs Welcome North Florida for Three-Game Series

GAME NOTES | TICKETS

CHARLESTON, S.C. –
The Citadel continues its season-opening home stand as it welcomes North Florida to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on Feb. 26-27
 
First pitch for the series opener is set for 4 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader is now set to begin at 1 p.m.

Stadium Policies
  • The Citadel will follow the guidelines set forth by the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
  • Capacity will be limited to 1,500 fans.
  • Fans who are listed among the CDC's at-risk groups are especially vulnerable and should consider staying home and refraining from attending events.
  • Fans exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms should not attend.
  • Face coverings are required unless eating or drinking. Social distancing will be enforced.
 
Concession Policies
  • New for this season, there will be no walk-up concessions inside Riley Park.
  • Fans can order food by downloading the FanFood app.
  • Fans can either pick up their order at a designated location, or have the food delivered to their seat for an extra charge.
  • All purchases will be made using credit cards. No cash will be exchanged inside Riley Park.
 
Ticket Information
Tickets for all home games are available on
CitadelSports.com/tickets or by calling the box office at 843-953-DOGS. Tickets will also be available at the stadium box office starting one hour before first pitch.
 
Masks Required
All fans inside Riley Park are required to wear a mask when not actively eating or drinking. Fans are also asked to socially distance inside the stadium.
 
ESPN+
This weekend's games against North Florida will be carried on ESPN+. Dave Weinstein will have the call.

vs. North Florida
The Citadel and North Florida have met eight times prior with the Osprey holding a 6-2 advantage in the series. The teams last met in 2015 when UNF won both games of a home-and-home series.


vs. the Atlantic Sun

The weekends begins four-straight games against teams from the Atlantic Sun. After three games with the Osprey, the Bulldogs will travel for a midweek game at Jacksonville. The Dolphins will make a return trip to the Lowcountry later this season.


Beckley Closes Door
Right hander Devin Beckley closed the door on the Bulldogs first victory against Longwood. He did not allow a hit over the final two innings, striking out three. In his two outings, Beckley has eight strikeouts over 4.0 innings.


Jones Comes Through
Crosby Jones came through for the offense on opening weekend as he went 4-for-12 with four RBIs. He collected at least one hit and one RBI in each contest.


Reeves' Streak Ends at 29.0

Sophomore Cameron Reeves saw his impressive streak of not allowing an earned run come to an end at 29.0 innings. He did not allow an earned run over the first 3.1 innings of his first start this season after not giving one up over the final 25.2 innings of 2020.


15 Strikeouts
Three Bulldog pitchers combined to strikeout 15 Longwood hitters in the middle game of the series. Starter Cameron Reeves struck out nine over 6.0 innings. Devin Beckley fanned five over 2.0 innings and Logan Barker had one strikeout in his 1.2 innings of work.


Corbitt Homers in Opener
Second baseman Tyler Corbitt homered in the season-opener against Longwood. He is the first Bulldog to homer on opening day since Drew Ellis homered on opening day in 2016.


'Dogs Offensive to Start Season
The Citadel offense collected 11 hits on opening day. It was the most base hits in a season opener since collecting 13 hits against Geore Mason in the 2013 opener.


On Deck
The Bulldogs hit the road for the first time this season as they travel to face Jacksonville on March. 3. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
