BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Citadel volleyball teams closes out the regular season with a pair of matches at Samford on March 28-29. Sunday's match is set to get underway at 5 p.m., with Monday's match set for a 7 p.m. first serve.
Series With Samford
The two teams have met 19 times prior with Samford holding an 18-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Citadel's lone victory came during the 2017 season, a 3-0 victory in Birmingham, Alabama.
All-time Kills Leader
In Monday's victory over UNCG,
Sharlissa de Jesus became the school's all-time leader in career kills. She currently stands at 1,366 kills, breaking the old record of 1,350 set by Rachel Sanders (2005-08).
1,000-Kill Duo
The dynamic duo of
Mellanie King and
Sharlissa de Jesus became the first Bulldog teammates to each have 1,000 kills in their career.
Program Record for SoCon Wins
The Bulldogs sweep over UNCG last weekend gave them six conference wins on the season. That establishes a new school record, breaking the old mark of four set during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
