CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team will begin Southern Conference home action with Western Carolina on Sunday and UNCG on Monday in McAlister Field House. Both matches have first serve set for 5:00 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
Hogan Climbing the Record Books
Sophomore setter Belle Hogan ranks fifth all-time with 1,435 assists as she complied 38 assists against Furman during the Bulldog's conference opener.
 
Scouting UNCG 
The Spartans are 7-8 for the 2022 season and 1-1 in conference play. UNCG  split conference match play last weekend with a win against Mercer, 3-0 and a 3-0 loss against Samford. Taylor Robertson leads the team in kills with 156 and Ella Voegele holds down the defense with 200 digs. In their most recent matchup, The Citadel defeated UNCG in the 2021 Southern Conference Volleyball Championships opening round. 
 
Scouting Western Carolina 
The Catamounts are 9-5 in the 2022 season and 2-0 in conference play. In their recent matches, WCU defeated Samford, 3-1, and Mercer, 3-0. Merry Gebel leads the Catamounts with 175 kills with 3.50 kills per set. Gebel sits third in the conference with 175 kills. In the last matchup, the Bulldogs won 3-1 on Nov. 12 in the 2021 season.

The Bulldogs travel to Spartanburg to face Wofford on Oct. 5 at the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
