CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel Women's Soccer Head Coach Ciaran Traquair has announced the appointment of Adam Kirkwood as the program's new Graduate Assistant Coach.
Kirkwood, a native of Stranraer, Scotland, brought his soccer talents to the United States as a student-athlete at LSU Shreveport from 2017 to 2019, where he was selected to the Presidential Honor Roll and named a NAIA All-American. He transferred to Young Harris College in Georgia from 2020 to 2021, where he served as the team captain in the Fall 2021 season as the team achieved an 18-0-2 record and a NCAA Sweet Sixteen Appearance. Individually, Kirkwood collected All-Conference, All-Region, and Academic All-American awards. He received his Bachelor's in December 2021 majoring in Management and Marketing.
He most recently spent this past summer playing USL League Two with One Knox SC, winning the South Central Division and reaching the national quarter finals. His college and postgraduate journey included stops as an indoor soccer referee and coaching youth soccer. Kirkwood's family still resides in Scotland.
