Bulldogs Fall in Season Opener

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Citadel football team dropped its season opener, 29-10, at Campbell Thursday evening.

How it Happened
  • Campbell got on the board on the opening possession as Hajj-Malik Williams found Ezeriah Anderson on a 14-yard touchdown.
  • The Bulldogs answered back on their first possession as Colby Kintner capped a 14-play drive with a 33-yard field goal.
  • The Camels got on the board again early in the third quarter as Lamagea McDowell scored from seven yards out.
  • Campbell would add to its lead with three field goals from Caleb Dowden. He hit from 36 yards late in the second quarter, then added a 31-yard and 26-yard field goal in the third quarter.
  • The Camels reached the end zone again in the fourth quarter on a two-yard run from Bryant Barr.
  • The Citadel scored its first touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter as Peyton Derrick found Tyler Cherry for a 19-yard touchdown.
