CHARLESTON, S.C.- The Citadel volleyball team welcomes Charleston Southern to McAlister Field House for their home-opener on Sept. 13. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
Champion Recognition
Pregame of Tuesday's match will include a recognition of the Bulldogs as the 2021 Southern Conference Championship banner is revealed for the first time. 
 
Returning Home
The Bulldogs will temporarily return home after three weekends on the road. They are coming off a 2-1 weekend at the Rocky Top Classic, defeating Norfolk State in five and sweeping New Hampshire. The team recorded three season-highs during their match against Norfolk State with 73 kills, 104 digs and 70 assists, all of which broke into top 10 all-time.
 
Series with the Buccaneers
This match will mark the 30^th time the Bucs and Bulldogs have met on the court. Charleston Southern has started their season with a 4-6 record defeating Appalachian State, South Carolina State, Queens and Mercer. They are led by Graduate Student Peyton Thompson who has 148 kills on the season and averages 3.89 a set. 
 
Up Next
The Bulldogs will travel to Buies Creek, N.C. to participate in the Fairfield Inn and Suites Dunn Campbell Invitational. They will face North Carolina Central on Friday (3:00 p.m.) then Robert Morris (2:00 p.m.) and Campbell (6:00 p.m.) on Saturday.
