Volleyball to Conclude Regular-Season Tournament Action

CHARLESTON, S.C. -
 The Citadel Volleyball team will travel to Buies Creek, N.C. Sept. 16-17 for the Fairfield Inn and Suites Dunn Campbell Invitational. The Bulldogs will play North Carolina Central (3:00 p.m.) on Friday, then Robert Morris (2:00 p.m.) and Campbell (6:00 p.m.) on Saturday.
 
Ruffin Leads the Bulldogs
Outside hitter Ali Ruffin continues to lead The Citadel through the start of the season, with 148 kills and 134 digs. Ruffin sits third all-time for kills per set with a 3.20 mark. So far Ruffin has registered 173.0pts for the Bulldogs.
 
Scouting North Carolina Central
The Eagles currently stand at a 1-6 mark on the season, only picking up four sets in their seven games played. Their most recent losses have come against North Carolina A&T and UNCG. North Carolina Central's win was this past Tuesday Sept. 13 versus Campbell (3-2). The Bulldogs have faced North Carolina Central eight times and have a 4-4 series record. Their most recent match up was in Oct. 2019 and The Citadel won 3-1.
 
Scouting Robert Morris 
Robert Morris has started the 2022 season 6-3, winning the Morehead State Comfort Inn-vitational 3-0. They also competed in the RMU/Chic-fil-A Robinson Labor Day Volleyball Classic (1-1) and The JMU Invitational (1-2). The Bulldogs have competed against the Colonials twice before displaying a 0-2 record, with the most recent match up in Aug. 2016.

Scouting Campbell
The Camels were 21-10 last year with a 14-2 conference finish, winning the Big South Championship. They secured a first-round bid into the NCAA tournament where they faced #10 Nebraska and lost in three straight sets. The Camels currently stand 2-7 this season with wins against Morgan State (3-0) and SIUE. The Bulldogs will compete against The Camels for the fourth time in program history with Campbell leading the series (3-0).
 
Up Next
The Bulldogs will travel to Greenville, S.C. to compete against Furman for their conference-opener on Sept. 21. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
