BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – The Citadel opened Southern Conference play Friday night by stunning defending conference champion Samford, 1-0, at Yelton Field.
Suzuka Yosue scored the game-winning goal in the 71st minute off a feed from
Zoey Conrad.
The victory gave head coach
Ciaran Traquair his 48th win with the Bulldogs, making him the school's all-time winningest coach. He surpassed Bob Winch (2006-15) for the honor. It also marked just the second win over Samford in 19 meetings.
