DELAND, FLA. – A late Bulldogs goal could not be duplicated in enough time Thursday night as The Citadel dropped a 2-1 road match at Stetson. The Hatters moved ahead with a goal in each half before Makenzie DePriest-Kessler's 86th-minute goal intensified an already-competitive contest to the very end.

How it Happened

26' – Facing a 25-yard free kick, Stetson used some trickery that led to Kyleigh Thelen taking the kick, lining her shot to the bottom right corner of the net.
47' – Telma Sif Buadottir's corner kick from the left hooked to the near corner past the hands of Grace Laws and just crossing the goal line.
86' – Makenzie DePriest-Kessler deflected in a great cross from the left by Maggie Melogy to cut Stetson's lead in half.

12' – Lexy Kendro nearly caught goalie Sarah Grimmett out of position when her venture outside the 18 was met by Kendro sending a ball past her, only for it to go far right.
47' – Grace Laws gets in front of a point-blank shot by the attacking Chloe Washington to redirect the ball over the goal.
56' – Hatter Maggie Struble's header in front of the net from a free kick goes just over the goal.
66' – Jimena Risoto shot a ball direct in front of the goal outside the box that sailed high.

Maggie Melogy earned her first assist of the year to earn her three points on one goal and one assist.
Grace Laws posted three saves on the night in a gritty performance to prevent the game from getting away from the Bulldogs. She is now 2-1 on the season.
The Hatters led 16-11 in shots and 5-4 in shots on goal. The Bulldogs had seven corner kicks to Stetson's six.
