GAME NOTES

THE GAME
  • The Citadel welcomes NCAA Division II foe North Greenville to McAlister Field House on Thursday night.
  • This will be the second all-time meeting for the two programs, but it will only affect the win-loss record for the Bulldogs as it will serve as an exhibition for the Crusaders.
ON THE RADIO
  • Every game can be heard live on 102.1-FM/1450-AM in the Charleston area. The voice of the Bulldogs, Brian Giffin, will be on the call.
LAST TIME OUT
  • Elijah Morgan's steal and step back three gave CIT a slim 12-11 lead at the 11:53 mark.
  • Madison Durr was fouled on a three-point attempt and made the ensuing free throws to give the Bulldogs the largest lead of the game for either team at 20-16.
  • PC responded quickly with a triple on its next possession, 20-19, but Durr would make four more from the line in the waning minutes of the first half as CIT led 31-27 with 1:59 remaining till the break.
  • PC answered once again, this time with an 8-0 spurt to hold a 35-31 edge at the half.
  • Presbyterian used an 8-0 run to hold a 35-31 edge at the half.
  • Durr's drive and dish to Quentin Millora-Brown ended in a dunk to knot the game at 40-40.
  • Christian Moore hit a wing three off another Durr pass to re-tie the contest at 47-47 but PC followed with a 6-0 run as the Bulldogs had to call timeout.
  • CIT looked poised to take back the lead, as a Bulldogs three-ball was halfway down but it didn't go for the visitors and PC once again pushed the margin to six, 62-56, after a fast break dunk with 3:19 to go.
  • A pair of Morgan makes from the charity stripe got the Bulldogs as close as they would get the rest of the way, 62-58, with 1:32 left in the contest as the Blue Hoses made their free throws down the stretch to win 71-64.
IT'S FOR CHARITY
  • The Bulldogs attempted a season-high 30 free throws in Monday's game at Presbyterian, a mark they hit just once a season ago.
  • Durr went a perfect 11-for-11 at the line.
  • After getting off to a slow start at the free throw line at NC State (13-for-24, 54.2%), The Citadel has gone 31-for-40 at the charity stripe over the last two games for a 77.5% clip.
BATTLE OF THE BOARDS
  • The Bulldogs have outrebounded their opponent in all three contests this season.
  • Grad transfer Millora-Brown leads the team in that category, averaging 7.7 rpg after pulling down a season-high 11 on Tuesday.
IF THIS, THEN THAT...
  • With a win, the Bulldogs would win their first game of the season in their fourth game, the longest it's taken for an Ed Conroy led Citadel squad to earn their first victory of the year.
  • The Citadel would begin the year 0-4 for the first time since the 1955-56 campaign.
FRESHMAN FRENZY
  • Four freshmen have appeared in all three games this season for The Citadel.
  • The same four freshmen, Keynan Davis, Moore, Marcus Pigram and Kam Roberts were the only players to appear off the bench Tuesday night.
  • The aforementioned four have accounted for 42 of the 194 points (21.6%) the Bulldogs have scored so far this season.
  • In all, six freshmen have seen playing time for the Bulldogs over the first four games.
NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP HERE
  • AJ Smith has gotten off to a fast start for The Citadel as he is the only player to register double-digit scoring efforts in all three games this season, pacing the Bulldogs with a 15.0 ppg average.
