CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel Volleyball team is set for their first-round matchup in the 2023 Southern Conference Volleyball Championships against the ETSU Buccaneers on Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. inside Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.

The No. 1 Seed
For the first time in program history, The Citadel Volleyball team is the number-one seed heading into the 2023 Southern Conference Volleyball Championships.

Belle Hogan, and
Jaelynn Elgert were all honored as the Southern Conference Players of the Year. Ruffin was honored as the Player of the Year, Hogan was named the Setter of the Year, and Elgert was honored as Libero of the Year.

Head coach
Dave Zelenock was named the Southern Conference Coach of the Year after recording the best season in program history with a 26-2 overall and 14-2 conference record.

Jaelynn Elgert were named to the All-SoCon Second Team.
Angelina Sayles earned the honors of All-Freshman.
Record Breakers
Ali Ruffin broke the program record for the most kills in a season, and
Belle Hogan broke the record for the most assists in a season.
Jaelynn Elgert is nine away from breaking the record for the most digs in an individual season.
Scouting ETSU
The Bucs finished the regular season with a 6-22 overall and 5-11 conference record. ETSU earned the eighth seed as they defeated the ninth seed UNCG Spartans in the play-in game to face The Citadel. Brianna Cantrell leads the Bucs with 298 kills, and Malgorzata Andersohn leads the defense with 336 digs. The Citadel defeated ETSU twice this season with a win on the road at 3-0 and a win inside McAlister Field House at 3-1.
