CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's basketball team will welcome its first Power 5 opponent to McAlister Field House since 2011 when the Bulldogs play host to Boston College in the home opener on Nov. 10.
The game is the first of three between the two schools as the Bulldogs will travel to Chestnut Hill in 2024 and 2025.
The contest will be the Bulldogs first against a Power 5 team inside McAlister Field House since Clemson came to the Lowcountry for the home opener on Nov. 16, 2011.
Conroy's first tenure as head coach at his alma mater was highlighted by multiple power 5 opponents agreeing to come to The Citadel such as South Carolina (2007), Southern California (2008), Iowa (2009) and Michigan State (2010).
"We appreciate Boston College for agreeing to this series and allowing us to host a high-profile game on campus," said head coach Ed Conroy. "Creating opportunities like this and elevating the profile and expectations for our program has been a goal of mine since returning to The Citadel."
Conroy enters his second season at his alma mater and is coming off a 10-win inaugural season. In his first season, Conroy led the Bulldogs to four Division I wins in the month of November for the first time in program history. The Bulldogs also defeated a 20-win team for the first time since 2009 when they defeated Furman, 69-65, on Feb. 18.
Season tickets for the 2023-24 season will go on sale in July and start as low as $100.
The remainder of the Bulldogs schedule will be released over the coming weeks.
