CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's basketball team will open its' 2023-24 season on the road against Power Five opponent North Carolina State on November 6th in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The contest will be the Bulldogs' third against a Power Five team in Head Coach Ed Conroy's second season of his second stint at his alma mater with the fourth to come a few days later on Nov. 10 when The Citadel host Boston College. 

Conroy's first tenure as head coach at his alma mater was highlighted by visits to multiple Power 5 opponents including Notre Dame (2007), Southern California (2007), and Iowa (2007-08). The 2009-10 campaign saw the Bulldogs visit a trio of Top 25 foes in #8 West Virginia, #12 Michigan State, and #23 Texas A&M.

In his first season, Conroy led the Bulldogs to four Division I wins in the month of November for the first time in program history. The Bulldogs also defeated a 20-win team for the first time since 2009 when they defeated Furman, 69-65, on Feb. 18.
