GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team lead 1-0 over the University of North Carolina-Greensboro in the 6
th minute but a pair of second half goals by the Spartans, prevented the Bulldogs from getting their first point in program history against UNCG in 23 matches.
How It Happened:

26' – After the teams traded corner kicks, UNCG missed wide from long range twice.
37' – After a UNCG throw in deep in the CIT defensive third, a Spartan got 1-on-1 at the 8' but Sampson aggressively cut down the angle to make the save.
41' – Just four minutes later, another long distance shot attempt from 30' out was destined for the top right corner but
Nora Sampson tipped the ball over the cross bar for another first half save.
53' – Off a UNCG corner, a free ball found a wide-open Spartan attacker in the box but her shot rang off the crossbar as CIT held onto a 1-0 advantage.
74' – After a Spartans' free kick, a contested ball on the near sideline was passed perfectly into the box and finished past Sampson to knot the match at 1-1.
85' – The Spartans looked for the go-ahead goal but three shots around the 18' were blocked by Bulldogs' defenders.
89' – With 1:20 remaining in the game, a quick through ball from just outside the 18' allowed UNCG to earn the game-winning goal and win 2-1.
