The Citadel Bulldogs are 12-0 heading into Southern Conference play; the Bulldogs are one of the five programs left in the country that are undefeated with Arizona St., The Citadel, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.

The outside hitter for The Citadel ranks third in total kills (206), fourth in points per set (229.5), sixth in kills per set (4.68), and ninth in points per set (5.22) in the nation.

Rankings in the Southern Conference
Maddy Cardenas leads the SoCon in hitting percentage with .408.
Ali Ruffin leads with 206 total kills, and
Belle Hogan leads the conference in assists with 462, averaging 10.27 assists per set.
Angelina Sayles has 27 service aces, which leads the conference. Libero
Jaelynn Elgert is second in the SoCon with 201 digs.
Scouting Chattanooga
The Mocs have the second-best record in the conference with 11-3. Chattanooga hosted the Chattanooga Classic and went 2-1 with wins over Eastern Michigan and Morehead State. Morgan Romano leads the Mocs with 195 kills, and Paige Gallentine leads them defensively with 253 digs. The Citadel was defeated 0-3 against Chattanooga in their previous match-up.
Scouting Samford
Samford is 5-7 heading into conference play. Samford will host UNCG for their first conference match on Sept. 22. Gracie Lynn Butler leads Samford with 198 kills, and Morgan Kate leads with 158 digs. Samford defeated The Citadel in the first round of the 2022 Southern Conference Tournament.
