CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team (10-9, 4-4) is set to compete against Western Carolina (7-12, 1-5) on Oct. 24 and then travel to Macon, Georgia to compete against the Mercer Bears (16-4, 6-1) on Oct. 25.

Notes on the Bulldogs
- The Citadel volleyball team is 10-9 overall and 4-4 in the Southern Conference. The Bulldogs went 1-1 last weekend with a 3-1 win over Furman and a 0-3 loss to Samford. The Bulldogs currently hold fourth place in the Southern Conference standings.
- The Bulldog currently ranks third in the NCAA with 18.41 digs per set.
- Jaelynn Elgert was named the SoCon Defensive Player of the Week for the second time. Elgert recorded 49 digs in two matches, averaging 7.00 digs per set. She posted 25 against Samford and 24 in a 3-1 win over Furman.
- Senior setter Belle Hogan is 72 assists away from breaking the program's record for assists for a career. Emily Hill currently holds the record with 3,826 assists.
Scouting Western Carolina
The Catamounts are 7-12 overall and 1-5 in the SoCon. Western Carolina is on a five-match losing streak, most recently losing 3-0 to ETSU. Offensively, the Catamounts are led by Bailey Hartsough, who has 209 kills and an average of 3.27 per set. Ali Morris, who is second on the team, has 199 kills and an average of 2.97 per set, not far behind Hartsough. The Bulldogs and the Catamounts had a historic match, with the Catamounts winning in five sets; the fourth set ended at 43-41.
Scouting Mercer
The Bears are 16-4 overall and 6-1 in conference play. Mercer is on a three-match winning streak with wins over Wofford, UNCG, and Furman. Offensively, Skye Ekes leads the Bears with 283 kills, averaging 3.63 per set. The Bears have five players with over 100-plus kills on the team. Defensively, MeMe Davis leads with 356 digs, and Skyler Bumpers leads with 56.0 total blocks. The Bears beat the Bulldogs 3-0 in their previous match-up on Sept. 28.
