Bulldogs Set for Wofford and UNCG

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team (11-10, 5-5) is set for a road match against Wofford (16-6, 8-2) on Oct. 31 and then returns to McAlister Field House for a home match against UNCG (7-15, 2-8) on Nov. 2.

Notes on the Bulldogs
  • The Citadel volleyball team is 11-10 overall and 5-5 in conference play. The Citadel heads into the matches against Wofford and UNCG fifth in the conference standings. The Bulldogs split their matches last weekend with a 3-1 win over Western Carolina and a 0-3 loss to Mercer.
  • Belle Hogan currently has 3,800 career assists as a Bulldog. She needs 27 more assists to break Emily Hill's program record 3,826.
  • The Citadel has three players with 200+ kills on the team: Ali Ruffin (242), Sophie Childs (215), and Mackenzie Martin (213).
Scouting Wofford
The Terriers are 16-6 overall and 8-2 in the Southern Conference. Wofford is on a two-match winning streak with wins against Chattanooga and Samford. Offensively, Sarah MacLean leads the Terriers with 238 kills, averaging 2.90 per set. Mary Emily Morgan isn't far behind MacLean with 229 kills, averaging 2.76 per set. Defensively, Laney Klika anchors the defense with 413 digs, averaging 5.23 per set, and Annamarie Rakoski leads with 77.0 total blocks. The Bulldogs beat the Terriers in their last match up 3-2.

Scouting UNCG
The Spartans are 7-15 overall and 2-8 in the conference, with two recent losses against Furman and ETSU. UNCG will face Wofford on Nov. 1 before facing The Citadel on Saturday. Offensively, Allie Sweet leads the Spartans and the conference with 353 kills, averaging 4.25 per set. Defensively, Chloe Nussvaum leads the defense with 325 digs, averaging 3.92 per set. America Anderson leads the team with 57.0 total blocks. The Bulldogs won in four sets over the Spartans earlier in the season.
