Match Preview
The Citadel volleyball team heads to Cullowhee, N.C., for a conference match against the Western Carolina Catamounts on Oct. 24 at 6 pm, then heads to Spartanburg, S.C., for a match against the Wofford Terriers on Oct. 25 at 6 pm.
 
About the Bulldogs
The Citadel is 0-18 overall and 0-8 in conference play with recent losses to Samford and Chattanooga last weekend.
 
Rachel Reininger continues to be the go-to player for The Citadel as she leads the team with 150 kills, averaging 3.33 per set. Reininger tallied 13 kills against Samford and 10 against Chattanooga to lead The Citadel.
 
Luci Lippelgoos ranks second on the team with 84 kills and first in total blocks with 57.0 on the season. Her 21 solo blocks rank second in the Southern Conference.
 
Greta Pleuss leads the team in assists with 363, averaging 6.72 per set. Mia Watson achieved career-highs with 12 assists against Samford and 11 against Chattanooga.
 
Jess Martin leads the team in digs with 145, averaging 2.79 per set.
 
Scouting Western Carolina
The Catamounts have a 6-13 overall record and a 2-6 conference record. Western Carolina is on a four-match losing streak and will face Wofford on Oct. 23 before playing The Citadel. Zoe Zudans, a 6-0 outside hitter, leads the team with 199 kills, averaging 3.02 per set. Courtney Graham leads with 80.0 blocks, including 16 solo blocks and 64 block assists.
 
Scouting Wofford
The Terriers have an overall record of 9-10 and are 5-3 in conference play. They will face the Catamounts on Oct. 23 before playing The Citadel on Oct. 25. Chloe Smith, a 6'1" outside hitter, leads the team with 223 kills, averaging 3.38 per set. Annemarie Rakoski tops the Terriers and the SoCon in solo blocks with 24, and she is third in the conference with a total of 81 blocks.
 
Series History
Western Carolina leads the series against The Citadel at 38-12, with the Catamounts defeating the Bulldogs 3-0 on Sept. 26. Wofford holds a 47-10 lead in the all-time series, with the Terriers beating the Bulldogs 3-0 on Oct. 25.
 
Lippelgoos Dominate the Net
Luci Lippelgoos continues to be a key defensive player for The Citadel, ranking second in the SoCon with 21 solo blocks. This is the second-highest total in a season since Maddy Cardenas' 22 solo blocks in 2023.
