Match Preview
The Citadel volleyball team will play its final two home matches of the season at McAlister Field House against the ETSU Buccaneers on Nov. 7 at 6 pm and the UNCG Spartans on Nov. 8 at 4 pm.
 
About the Bulldogs
Rachel Reininger leads the Bulldogs with 188 kills, averaging 3.30 per set. Reininger also leads The Citadel with 14 service aces on the season. Gwen Berry is second on the team with 107 kills, averaging 2.06 per set.
 
Luci Lippelgoos continues to be a dominant middle for The Citadel, with 98 kills and 65.0 total blocks this season. Her 22-block solos still rank second in the SoCon.
 
Jess Martin recorded a career-high 25 digs in three sets against Mercer, bringing her season total to 199, which leads The Citadel.
 
Scouting ETSU
The Buccaneers are 18-5 overall and lead the SoCon with an undefeated 12-0 record. ETSU is riding a 15-match winning streak as it prepares to face The Citadel on Nov. 7. Makayla Bays, a 5-11 outside hitter, leads the team with 325 kills, averaging 3.87 per set, which is fifth overall in the SoCon.
 
Scouting UNCG
The Spartans are 14-9 overall and 7-5 in the Southern Conference. The Spartans will face the Mercer Bears on Nov. 7 before facing The Citadel on Nov. 8. Allie Sweet, a 6-2 outside hitter, leads the team and the SoCon with 408 kills, averaging 4.48 per set.
 
Series History
ETSU leads the all-time series against The Citadel, 31-5, and the Buccaneers defeated the Bulldogs 3-0 in their first matchup of the season. UNCG holds a 36-12 all-time record over The Citadel, with the Bulldogs falling in a five-set thriller against the Spartans in their first meeting.
 
Senior Day
The Citadel will celebrate its three seniors, Lydia Larson, Sam Barnes, and Ainsley Dowling, as well as its two graduate students, Savannah Freeman and Alexa Psotka, with a private ceremony before the match.
 
Up Next
The Citadel will play its last two matches of the season on the road against Chattanooga on Nov. 14 and Samford on Nov. 15.
