Box Score GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Citadel basketball team got off to a slow start and was unable to erase the early deficit, falling to the Furman Paladins on Wednesday evening.
Brody Fox finished with 14 points and six boards while
Sola Adebisi chipped in seven and eight rebounds.
First Half
- The Paladins raced out to an 11-0 lead, forcing a Bulldogs timeout at the 16:27 mark.
- A 10-0 Furman spurt stretched the margin to 22 before a Colby McAllister 3-pointer made it 26-7 with seven minutes left in the first half.
- Another Paladins make from beyond the arc extended the margin to 25, 34-9, as the Bulldogs trailed 44-11 at the half.
Second Half
- A pair of Furman free throws ballooned the score to 58-18, six minutes into the second stanza.
- Christian Moore hit a 3-ball as part of an 8-2 Bulldogs run midway through the half.
- Fox would make a pair from the charity stripe in the final two minutes before Dante Kearse made a 3-pointer with 43 seconds remaining as The Citadel closed the game on a 6-0 run.
