CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball graduate student, Sophie Childs, was honored as the Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business MBA Student of the Year.
 
A committee of professors from The Citadel's MBA program selected Childs to receive the Student of the Year honor. Candidates must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher as MBA students to be nominated for the award, and those who have positively impacted the Baker School of Business.
 
"I am deeply honored and grateful to receive the MBA Student of the Year Award. This recognition reflects not only my hard work but also the unwavering support of my professors, peers, and loved ones," said Childs. "I am truly thankful for the opportunities and experiences that have shaped my journey, and I am humbled to have been chosen for this award. It inspires me to continue learning and growing."
 
A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Childs transferred to The Citadel as a graduate student after attending Texas State. During her time as a Bulldog, she had the most successful season of her career, achieving 317 kills, averaging 2.91 per set.
 
Childs was honored as the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week on November 4.
