MBB Preview: The Citadel Hosts Chattanooga on Senior Day

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel (9–19, 6–9 SoCon) hosts Chattanooga (11–17, 5–10 SoCon) on Saturday, Feb. 21, at McAlister Field House in Southern Conference play. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET. Saturday's contest marks Senior Day, as The Citadel will honor Christian Moore, Logan Applegate, Sola Adebisi, Braxton Williams, Carter Kingsbury, Simeon German and Rowan Irelan prior to tipoff.

Scouting The Citadel
The Citadel enters Saturday's contest following a 78–75 home loss to Samford on Wednesday. Braxton Williams led The Citadel with 22 points, his seventh 20-point performance of the season, while Sola Adebisi added 13 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Christian Moore finished with 12 points and three three-pointers, and The Citadel committed just six turnovers, its fewest in Southern Conference play this season.

In the teams' previous meeting on Feb. 7 in Chattanooga, The Citadel earned a 78–71 road victory. Four players scored in double figures in that contest, and The Citadel shot 50.0 percent from the field while converting 11-of-13 free-throw attempts.

Through 28 games, Braxton Williams leads The Citadel in scoring at 13.5 points per game. Sola Adebisi leads the team in rebounding at 6.1 rebounds per contest and also paces the team in both blocks (27) and steals (29). Eze Wali leads The Citadel in assists with 65 on the season. Christian Moore leads the team with 56 made three-pointers and is shooting 39.4 percent from beyond the arc. Carter Kingsbury has added 52 assists and averages 8.8 points per game.

As a team, The Citadel is averaging 69.4 points per game while shooting 41.8 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from three-point range.

Scouting Chattanooga
Chattanooga most recently earned a 94–90 road victory at Mercer on Feb. 19 after falling 81–76 to Western Carolina on Feb. 14 at home.

Through 28 games, Chattanooga is averaging 74.8 points per game while allowing 72.6 points per contest. The Mocs are shooting 45.0 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from three-point range.

Honor Huff leads Chattanooga in scoring at 16.2 points per game. Jake Stephens averages 13.8 points and leads the team in rebounding at 6.9 rebounds per contest. Jamal Johnson leads the Mocs in assists with 4.1 per game.
