Soccer Preview | Bulldogs Host Bob Jones for Senior Day

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Citadel closes out the non-conference portion of its home schedule Saturday, Sept. 12, welcoming Bob Jones to Washington Light Infantry Field for Senior Day. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
Senior Day recognition will take place prior to the match as The Citadel honors Samantha Grantham, Maya Johnson, Caelynn January, Zoe Santos, Jasiah Pack, Ayja McCleary, Charlotte Seay, Adrianna Gill and Reagan Wise.
The Citadel enters Saturday with a 4-1-2 record following a 3-1 victory over Charleston Southern on Thursday. The Bulldogs have now gone unbeaten in five consecutive matches.

The Citadel has put together a strong opening stretch to the 2026 campaign, earning victories over Kennesaw State, South Carolina State, Winthrop and Charleston Southern while playing Queens and UNC Asheville to draws.
Through seven matches, the Bulldogs have outscored opponents 16-5, with their plus-11 goal differential ranking third in the Southern Conference behind Mercer and Furman at plus-12. The squad has also outshot its opponents 95-79, holds a 55-39 advantage in shots on goal and has posted three clean sheets.
The Citadel has been particularly strong after halftime, scoring 11 second-half goals while not allowing a second-half goal this season. All five goals surrendered have come in the opening half.
Samantha Grantham leads the team with seven goals and 16 points and is tied for the Southern Conference lead in both categories. Her seven goals this season are already more than the six she scored over her previous three seasons combined. The senior has also added two assists, recorded three game-winning goals and placed 18 of her 27 shots on goal.
Jasiah Pack has registered four goals and a team-high five assists for 13 points. Her five assists are tied for the SoCon lead, while her 13 points rank fifth in the conference.
Caelynn January has recorded one goal and two assists for four points, while Avery Lang and Gabrielle Macer have each totaled three points. Alixandria Fletcher and Emily Steiner have also found the back of the net this season.
In goal, Zoe Santos has started all seven matches, logging 610:43 while allowing five goals. Santos has recorded 31 saves with a .861 save percentage and 0.74 goals-against average while posting a 4-1-2 record.

Team Stats
Bob Jones comes to Charleston following a 4-0 road loss at Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday. The Bruins generated 10 shots in the match, while their goalkeeper recorded 11 saves.
The Bruins played Meredith College to a 1-1 draw in their previous completed contest. Lydia Howell scored the equalizer in the 39th minute off an assist from Mady Pfaffenroth.
Bob Jones enters its 15th season under head coach Chris Carmichael and is coming off its third consecutive NCCAA national championship.
Series History
Saturday will mark the fourth all-time meeting between The Citadel and Bob Jones, with the Bulldogs holding a 3-0 advantage in the series.
The Citadel has outscored Bob Jones 12-0 across the previous three meetings. The Bulldogs earned a 4-0 victory in 2018 and a 5-0 road win in 2019 before defeating the Bruins 3-0 last season at Washington Light Infantry Field.
