CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Citadel (5-1-2) erupted for six second-half goals to defeat Bob Jones (0-2-1), 7-0, Saturday afternoon at Washington Light Infantry Field, extending its unbeaten streak to six consecutive matches. The Bulldogs finished with a 45-3 advantage in shots and placed 23 attempts on goal.

Senior Reagan Wise opened the scoring with just two seconds remaining in the first half before Alixandria Fletcher, Jasiah Pack, Adrianna Gill and Avery Lang combined for six goals after halftime. Pack and Gill each recorded braces as seven goals came from five different Bulldogs.

First Half

The Citadel controlled possession from the opening whistle, putting four shots on goal within the first 10 minutes as Bob Jones goalkeeper Margaret Provenzano kept the match scoreless.
The Bulldogs continued to apply pressure throughout the half, earning five corner kicks and finishing the opening 45 minutes with a 23-0 advantage in shots.
The breakthrough finally came at 44:58 when Avery Lang found Reagan Wise, who converted with two seconds remaining before halftime to give The Citadel a 1-0 lead.
The goal was Wise's first of the season, while Lang recorded an assist for the second consecutive match.

Second Half

The Bulldogs doubled their advantage at 50:08 when Alixandria Fletcher scored her second goal of the season off an assist from Emily Wash.
Jasiah Pack then struck twice in just over four minutes, scoring off a feed from Samantha Grantham at 59:44 before converting an assist from Adrianna Gill at 63:47 to push the lead to 4-0. The brace moved Pack to six goals on the season.
Gill added a goal of her own at 67:25 off Reese Denson's assist before Lang found the net at 70:52 on Wash's second assist of the afternoon.
Gill capped the scoring exactly one minute later, finishing off an assist from Adi Regrutto at 71:52 for her second goal of the match and a 7-0 advantage.
Aliana Banner made two second-half saves as The Citadel completed its fourth clean sheet of the season. Banner played 56:06 in goal after replacing Zoe Santos, who started and played the opening 33:54.

Gill finished with two goals and an assist for a match-high five points, while Pack scored twice and placed five of her six shots on goal. Fletcher led all players with nine shots, including four on frame. Wash recorded two assists, while Lang finished with a goal and an assist for the second consecutive match.

The Citadel's second-half dominance continued with six goals after the break. The Bulldogs have now outscored opponents 17-0 in the second half through eight matches and have yet to concede a goal after halftime this season.

The victory moves The Citadel to 5-1-2 overall and extends its unbeaten streak to six matches.

Up next, the Bulldogs open Southern Conference play against VMI on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 4 p.m. at Washington Light Infantry Field.
