Alex Gang joined The Citadel coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach ahead of the 2022 season.
Gang’s resume includes an All-American career at Oklahoma City University from 2007-10, where the forward earned NAIA national honors his junior year in 2009 after registering 46 points on 22 goals and two assists. He finished his career with 92 points on 38 goals and 16 assists over 84 games while making 79 starts. During his collegiate career, the Stars earned 61 wins, including a 20-win campaign in 2008 that featured a 7-0-1 conference record within the Sooner Athletic Conference and an appearance in the NAIA Men's Soccer Championship semifinals.
He played professionally for Incheon United FC in the Korean K-League, a top-flight professional league in Korea, where they reached the semifinals of the Korean FA Cup and U23 Reserve League.
His coaching background includes working as the Youth Academy Director for Seongnam FC from 2015 to 2017, along with a stint as the assistant coach for the men’s soccer program at Midway University (Ky.) in 2021.
Gang is an Assistant Professor in the Sport Management Program at The Citadel.
