CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team hosts Savannah State at 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening inside McAlister Field House for the Bulldogs' annual Dig Pink night.

"We are very excited to be back in our gym with a familiar opponent," head coach
Craig Mosqueda said. "This is also a very special match because we are fundraising for the Sideout Foundation and the battle against breast cancer."

The Bulldogs (6-17, 0-7 SoCon) return to their home court following a 3-1 loss to Western Carolina on Friday evening. The squad picked up a 25-22 victory in the second set before ultimately falling to the Catamounts.

In her last outing, junior
Megan Sowell posted a double-double for the Bulldogs with 16 digs and a match-high 11 kills. Sophomore
Carla Bruce followed in kills for The Citadel, with eight.

Senior
Rachel Keefer earned a team-high 27 assists along with eight digs against Western Carolina. Junior
Samantha Espy led the squad in digs with 24.

Savannah State is 0-24 on the season and has not picked up a set against an opponent. The Tigers enter the competition following a 3-0 loss to Mercer. The Bulldogs last met the Tigers this season on Sept. 22 in Savannah where The Citadel dominated in three sets, 26-14, 25-16, 25-13. Savannah State is coached by Jolanta Graham, who is in her fourth season at the helm.
