GAME NOTES
CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel basketball team will play its fifth consecutive game away from the friendly confines of McAlister Field House when the Bulldogs travel to Air Force on Wednesday. Tip off from Clune Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is set for 9 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network and broadcast live on Sports Radio 1450 AM.
The Citadel is riding its first three-game win streak since the last three regular season games of the 2013-14 campaign. The Bulldogs downed Georgia Southern, Bob Jones and USC-Upstate on its way to a Palmetto State Shootout title.
With last week's trio of victories, The Citadel finished November with five wins for just the second time in program history. It's the best start to a season since 2004-05 and the Bulldogs' three non-conference wins over Division I opponents has already surpassed last year's total of two.
Head coach
Duggar Baucom's high-octane offense is putting up gaudy numbers thus far. The Bulldogs rank first in the NCAA in scoring offense (97.1 PPG), total assists (153) and total three-pointers made (91). Baucom's pressure defense is also collecting 11.3 steals per game, which ranks fifth in the NCAA.
Wednesday's game marks the first time The Citadel has played against the Falcons at the Air Force Academy. It's the fifth meeting all-time between the two programs, with the series currently knotted at 2-2. All four games of the series have been decided by seven points or less.
Following the trip to Air Force, the Bulldogs return to McAlister Field House for a two-game homestand. The Citadel faces College of Charleston on Saturday and hosts Voorhees College on Dec. 8. Tip off against the crosstown rival Cougars is set for 11 a.m.
