th meeting with Furman, will host Southern Conference newcomer Mercer on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to participate in the SoCon Hoops Against Hunger initiative by donating non-perishable items at the game.

Hoops Against Hunger, in partnership with the Brad Daugherty Foundation, brings together the basketball community along with public, private, and sports organizations as well as local and national sponsors to help provide meals for students who may not have enough to eat at home during the extended holiday breaks from school.

The Citadel (8-13, 3-7 SoCon) is seeking its eighth win at home this year, most since the 2009-10 season, while looking to snap a four-game losing streak that began against Furman.

A win against the Bears would mark the first in the all-time series in Charleston since March 5, 1927 at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament.

Mercer (12-11, 7-3 SoCon), currently third in the league standings, is looking to rebound from a recent 49-46 loss at Wofford last Saturday. The Bears are led offensively by the duo of Ike Nwamu (15.8 ppg) and Darious Moten (11.2).
