CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's basketball team will close out their current three-game road swing this week with a pair of games at North Carolina A&T and High Point. The Bulldogs will first travel to Greensboro, North Carolina, on Wednesday, Nov. 15 for a 7 p.m. tipoff at North Carolina A&T and will close out the week with a 2 p.m. game at High Point on Saturday, Nov. 18.

Most recently for the Bulldogs, the duo of freshmen Tariq Simmons and Hayden Brown combined to score 44 of the Bulldogs' 93 points Sunday, Nov. 12 at Virginia Tech, including 20 in the first half from Simmons and 13 in the second half from Brown. Brown started the game off by hitting his first seven shots and ended the game 9-for-10 from the field. With 22 points from Brown and 22 points from Simmons, it was the first time two freshmen have scored 20 or more points in one game since Preston Parks and Leandro Allende scored 28 and 23 points at Western Carolina on Jan. 19, 2017.

Friday's game at North Carolina A&T will mark the first meeting on the hardwood between the Bulldogs and the Aggies.

Following an 87-63 loss at Clemson on Sunday, Nov. 12, North Carolina A&T has opened the 2017-18 season 1-1. The Aggies won their opener 104-80 over Greensboro College on Friday, Nov. 10. In Sunday's game at Clemson, North Carolina A&T was led by Femi Olujobi's 25 points following by Devonte Boykins with 14. The Aggies shot 40.4% (23-of-57) from the field and converted on nine of their 26 attempts (34.6%) from three-point range.

Last season, the Aggies went 3-29 and ended the season with two wins in their last 10 games. Juniors Sam Hunt and Eliel Gonzalez led the Aggies in scoring with 12.7 and 10.1 points per game, respectively but neither return to the squad this season making Davaris McGowens the leading returning scorer after averaging 9.6 points per game a season ago to go along with 6.9 boards per contest.

Saturday's game at High Point will mark the sixth meeting between the Bulldogs and the Panthers, but the first time the two have met since the 2011-12 season. High Point holds a slight 3-2 advantage overall and a 3-0 record in High Point.

The Panthers are currently 1-0 on the year with a game at Tennessee coming up Tuesday night. High Point won its opener 100-66 at home over William & Mary. The Panthers were led by Jahaad Practor with 28 points off 9-for-14 (.643) shooting and 6-for-7 (.857) shooting from three-point range. Andre Fox and Brandonn Kamga were the next highest scorers for the Panthers with 22 and 18 points scored. Both connected on seven field goals and led the team in rebounds with seven by Kamga and six by Fox.

High Point was led last season by Miles Bowman, Jr.'s 14.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest. Behind Bowman, Fox was the second-highest scorer with 12.7 points per game. Anthony Lindauer and Tarique Thompson were the next highest scorers, averaging 10.6 and 10.0 points per game respectively. Only Fox returns this season of the top four scorers.

Following the two road games this week, The Citadel will return home to McAlister Field House for a game against Trinity Baptist on Tuesday, Nov. 21 with a 6 p.m. tipoff on the SoCon Digital Network.
