CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel basketball team will close out the current three-game homestand on Tuesday, Dec. 5 with a 6 p.m. tilt against the Dukes of James Madison. The game will be featured on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app and is being billed as "Holy City Night."
Entering the week, the Bulldogs are ranked in the top-10 nationally in seven different categories and are in the top-five in four of those metrics. The Bulldogs are third in NCAA Division I in both steals average (12.1 per game) and turnovers forced (178 total, 22.3 per game). They are also fourth in total steals (97) and fifth for three-pointers made average (12.3 per game). The Citadel is also sixth in both turnover margin (+7.0) and total three-pointers attempted (279) and the Bulldogs are seventh in total three-pointers made (98).

rd in assists average (18.5 per game).
James Madison controls the overall series record 3-1. The Dukes have won the last two meetings and the series in Charleston is tied 1-1. The two program have not faced off since the 2011-12 season when they played in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The two last met in Charleston on Nov. 20, 2010 with the Dukes claiming a 74-67 victory.
James Madison enters Tuesday's game with a 3-6 record after downing Charlotte 87-82 at home on Saturday, Dec. 2. The win halted a two-game skid for the Dukes. The Dukes are 0-4 so far this year away from their home court in Harrisonburg, Virginia, including 0-3 in neutral-site games. After winning their season opener 80-50 over Bridgewater, the Dukes went on a four-game losing skid to the likes of Old Dominion, Northern Kentucky, Weber State and UTSA before snapping the skid with a 105-99, double-overtime win over Appalachian State. Tuesday's game in Charleston begins a four-game road swing for JMU that takes the team to Richmond, Florida International and Florida before returning home at the end of the month to open conference play.
As a team, the Dukes have averaged 76.1 points per game through the first nine contests of the season while allowing opponents to score 77.2 points per game (-1.1 scoring margin). JMU has connected on 42.5% (234-of-551) of their attempts from the field for the year, but that percentage goes down to 32.8% (67-of-204) from three-point range. The Dukes only average 7.4 treys per game.
The Dukes have been led by Stuckey Mosley's 19.6 points per game and 26 made three-pointers. Mosley averaged 32.6 minutes per tilt as well as 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Behind him, Joey McLean has been scoring 14.3 points per game with Matt Lewis chipping in 10.6 points per contest off the bench. Develle Phillips, the Dukes' fourth-leading scorer, leads the team with 7.2 rebounds per game while McLean averages a team-best 2.9 assists per game. Through the first nine games, the Dukes' starting lineup has featured Mosley, McLean and Phillips as well as Ramone Snowden. Darius Banks has started seven the last seven games after taking over for Gerron Scissum, who started the first two games of the year.
Tuesday's game against James Madison will mark the final game before the Bulldogs break for a week to focus on finals. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 14 when they travel to Buies Creek, North Carolina, to take on Campbell.
