CHARLESTON, S.C. –The Citadel men's basketball team travels to Johnson City, Tennessee Tuesday to take on ETSU, the top team in the Southern Conference. The Bulldogs and Buccaneers play at 7 p.m.

ETSU controls the all-time series record with a 43-16 record over The Citadel dating back to the 1961-62 season. The Buccaneers have won the last five games in the series with the last Bulldog win coming back on Feb. 26, 2015 when The Citadel claimed a 74-73 win at home.

ETSU leads the SoCon with just one league loss on the season. The Bucs fell on the road to UNCG on Monday, Feb. 12, seeing the nation's longest active winning streak of 16 wins at the time come to an end. Despite the stumble, the Bucs rebounded the next game with a 72-61 road win over Western Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 17.

This season, the Bucs are averaging 76.4 points per game while holding foes to just 65.4 points per contest, a +11.1 scoring margin. In conference play, ETSU is averaging 76.1 points per game with their foes only managing 63.1 points per outing, tops in the league, for a +13.0 scoring margin. Overall, the Bucs lead the conference with a 47.3% shooting percentage and they lead the league by holding opponents to a shooting percentage of 39.9%. The Buccaneers average 7.6 3-pointers, 38 rebounds, 7.7 steals and 13.5 turnovers per game on the year.

Desonta Bradford leads the team with 15.3 points per game in 32.4 minutes per outing. He is currently shooting at a .473 clip and leads the team by averaging 5.9 rebounds per contest to go along with 52 steals. Behind him is Jalan McCloud, averaging 11.7 points per game while hitting on 48.3% of his attempts from the field. Devontavius Payne has mostly come off the bench this season, but leads the team with 61 made 3-pointers while averaging 9.8 points per contest. Bo Hodges and Peter Jurkin have chipped in 9.0 and 7.9 points per game with Jurkin second on the team in rebounding as he averages 5.0 boards per contest. Bradford is the only Buc to have started every game for ETSU while David Burrell has started 27 contests. Jurkin and Jermaine Long have each started 26 games and McCloud has started 21 contests.

UP NEXT: Following the quick trip to Johnson City, the Bulldogs will return home for the final home game of the season on Friday, Feb. 23.
