SUMTER, S.C. – The Citadel men's tennis team concluded the weekend in Sumter with a 7-0 loss to Georgia Southern, making up a match that was postponed earlier in the season.
"Georgia Southern is a very good team and their coaching is excellent. They were ready to play as they saw us compete the day before and they were in a great state of readiness for the match," said head coach
Chuck Kriese. "Today's match was a very good battle, but they deserved the win in every department. Our team fought very well and that is all that I can ask of them. Every guy put his heart on the court and we grew a lot as a team. I know that I keep saying this, but from my experiences tennis make you go through every step of the process before it starts rewarding you with winning at high levels The guys will now take a break from tennis as they prepare for Recognition Day. It gives you have a chance to process all of the wonderful experiences we have been through so far as a team and to keep growing."
