SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Despite having several opportunities to overcome an early 1-0 deficit, The Citadel men's tennis team fell 7-0 on the road at Wofford in a Southern Conference match at the Reeves Tennis Center, Monday afternoon.
"This was a very disappointing match. We were in and leading six of the matchups, but you have to give the credit to Wofford for hanging in and playing better at the end," said head coach
Chuck Kriese. "It is just very, very tough to continue to knock on the door and be at the level for most of the match, but miss out at the end of the game. I know that it is part of the process, but it is hard to go through and we have to keep the guys at the door until they break through. I am certain and extremely confident that we will break through and the team's goals remain the same – to make it to the top of the Southern Conference and become a top-30 team."
The afternoon started off with the Terriers (10-6, 2-2 SoCon) taking the doubles point over the Bulldogs (9-21, 0-4Â SoCon) with a clean sweep of all three doubles matchups.

In singles action,
