CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Citadel jumped out to a third-quarter lead, but it was a late touchdown that gave Chattanooga a 34-33 victory Saturday afternoon at Finley Stadium.

How it Happened
- The Citadel got on the board first as Sean-Thomas Faulkner and Gunner Covey combined to stop the running back in the end zone for a safety.
- UTC bounced back and scored on a75-yard pass to Tyrin Summers. After a Bulldog turnover, UTC scored on their next play to take a 12-2 lead after the first quarter.
- The Bulldogs put together a 77-yard drive to get into the end zone as Brandon Rainey hit Ryan McCarthy for a 53-yard touchdown on a 3rd-and-10 play.
- The Citadel came out in the second half and let their defense take over. Chris Beverly intercepted the first play of the half and returned it 24 yards.
- Two plays later, Rainey burst up the middle for an eight-yard touchdown run.
- Willie Eubanks III would force a fumble on the next series and Rainey would go up top to Raleigh Webb on the first play for a 40-yard touchdown.
- After being backed up in their own end, Dante Smith broke loose on a 73-yard run. The Bulldogs would get into the red zone, but settle for a 21-yard Jacob Godek field goal.
- The Mocs put together their first drive since the first quarter and Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks cut back and raced for a 45-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion made it a six-point game.
- The Citadel got a big kick return from Remus Bulmer to set up the next drive. Bulmer picked up a pair of first downs before Clay Harris ended the drive with a seven-yard touchdown run.
- A big pass play would set up Ibotuken's second touchdown run to make it a six-point game.
- After the Bulldogs were forced to punt, a pair of penalties helped the Mocs move down the field. Nick Tiano would eventually end the drive with a 12-yard touchdown run.
Inside the Numbers
- The Citadel rushed for 351 yards on 63 attempts. It was the sixth game this season with more than 300 yards rushing.
- Remus Bulmer led the way with 130 yards on just 12 carries. It was his first 100-yard game as a Bulldog.
- Dante Smith added 88 yards on just six touches.
- Brandon Rainey ran for 67 yards and a touchdown. He also went 6-of-14 for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
- Rainey has now rushed for a touchdown and thrown for another in eight games this season.
- The two touchdown passes mark the third time this season Rainey has thrown for a pair of scores.
- Ryan McCarthy caught two passes for 63 yards and a touchdown.
- Raleigh Webb added a 40-yard touchdown reception.
- The touchdown was the 10th receiving touchdown for Webb. He is just the fourth Bulldog receiver to reach double digits in touchdown receptions in a season.
- Andre Roberts caught 14 touchdowns in 2008 and 10 in 2007. Brian Baima caught 13 in 1971 and Paul McGuire had 10 in 1959.
- Willie Eubanks III led the defense with nine tackles, all solo. He added 2.0 sacks, 4.0 tackles-for-loss and forced a fumble.
- Aaron Brawley and Hasan Black each added a sack.
- Chris Beverly intercepted his first pass of the season on the first play of the second half.
