CHARLESTON, S.C. –
The Citadel basketball team will close out the current four-game homestand this week with a pair of non-conference games against Carver and Piedmont. The 'Dogs will host the Cougars on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. with Piedmont coming to town for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

TOYS FOR TOTS TOY DRIVE
Any fan who brings a new, unwrapped toy for the Marines Toys for Tots Toy Drive to any of the remaining two home games during the current homestand will receive a $5 ticket to that game.

UGLY SWEATER PARTY TUESDAY, DEC. 10
Fans are encouraged to break out their best (or worst) ugly Christmas sweaters and wear them to the Bulldogs' game with Piedmont on Tuesday, Dec. 10 for a chance to win a $50 gift card to The Citadel Bookstore.

MAKE 'EM MISS
All season long, if an opposing player misses two consecutive free throws in the same trip to the charity stripe at any point in the second half, fans in attendance will receive a coupon for free food from Hubee D's!

LAST TIME OUT
The Bulldogs battled back from being down by as many as 21 with 10:00 left in regulation led by a 30-point effort from junior Kaiden Rice, but the Bulldogs were unable to complete the comeback, falling 96-84 to preseason Southern Conference favorite ETSU Wednesday night.

WINNING THE TURNOVER MARGIN
The Bulldogs committed just nine turnovers on Dec. 4 against ETSU, while forcing the Bucs to turn the ball over 16 times. The nine turnovers by the 'Dogs were the fewest since committing nine turnovers at home against UNC Greensboro last season on Feb. 28.

30-SPOT FOR K-RICE
Rice led all scorers in Wednesday's game against ETSU with 30 points, setting a career high for the junior sharpshooter. He has now scored 550 career points. Rice's 11 made field goals also set a career high. Rice is the first Bulldog this season to eclipse the 30-point mark, and he is the first to reach the mark since Connor Kern scored 32 last season at home against UNCG.

KAID3N RIC3 FOR 3
Rice has made at least one 3-pointer in seven straight games.

TYSON WITH THE ASSIST
Point guard Tyson Batiste has reached the seven assist mark four times as he had seven Wednesday night against ETSU.

THE HISTORY WITH CARVER
Saturday will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
Carver is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). The Cougars are 1-9 on the year heading into the weekend and will play Georgia Southern on Friday night before traveling to Charleston for Saturday's game. The Cougars have played the likes of North Alabama, Troy and Savannah State. Their lone win on the year came at Savannah State, 90-85, on Nov. 23. Carver is averaging 64.2 points per game, but their opponents have averaged 93.7 points per contest, including 143 scored by Loyola-New Orleans and 100 scored by William Carey. The Cougars have connected on 37.4% of their shot attempts from the field, including 30.0% from beyond the 3-point arc. The opposition has converted 50.6% of their shots, including 33.6% from long range. Carver has committed 212 turnovers on the season while forcing their opponents into 160 turnovers.

CARVER INDIVIDUALLY
Rayford Washington and Jessy Haynes have started all 10 games for Carver with six others having played in all 10 games. Washington leads the team with an average of 13.5 points per game, including making a team-best 22 3-pointers, while Haynes has averaged 7.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest. Haynes leads the team with eight blocks and 16 offensive rebounds. Terrance Boykin is second on the team with an average of 9.8 points per game. He has started eight of the nine contests he has played in. After missing a pair of games to start the season, Antonio Gardner has averaged 9.0 points and 5.4 boards per outing, but is shooting just 28.0% from the field and leads the team with 42 turnovers.

THE HISTORY WITH PIEDMONT
The Citadel and Piedmont have squared off on the hardwood 12 times prior to Tuesday's contest, but have not met since the 1988-89 season. The Bulldogs hold an 11-1 record over the Lions, including winning the last eight meetings. Piedmont's lone win in the series came back on Jan. 22, 1954 when the Lions claimed a 79-55 win in Charleston. The two didn't play again until the 1978-79 campaign and played each season from that point until the 1983-84 season.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Piedmont, who's assistant coach Kyle Combs was on staff at The Citadel for three seasons, is 5-1 on the year and will play at Emory on Saturday, Dec. 7 before facing the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The lone blemish on Piedmont's record came in the form of 74-58 road loss at Sewanee on Nov. 26. The Lions opened the season with an 81-76 overtime victory at Toccoa Falls and won their first four games of the season. Most recently, Piedmont defeated Oglethorpe 74-58 on Dec. 3. The Lions are currently averaging 74.2 points per game and giving up 67.3. Piedmont has converted 47.5% of their field goal attempts, while their opposition has converted 41.7%. The Lions have converted 39.0% of their 3-point attempts and are averaging 7.7 treys per game Their opponents have converted 30.7% of their 3-point shots, but average 9.2 made 3-pointers per outing.

PIEDMONT INDIVIDUALLY
Three players are currently averaging double-digit points led by Jordan Foote's 15.5 points per game to go along with his team-high 8.7 rebounds per contest and 59.7% shooting. Orry Clements-Owens averages 11.3 points per game and has converted a team-best 12 3-pointers, while Justin Quick has chipped in 10.8 points per outing, including 11 made treys. Miles Riley is just outside the double-figure average with 9.8 points per game. Riley and Clements-Owens lead the team with 21 assists each. Quick is currently shooting 61.1% from beyond the 3-point arc with Clements-Owens and Foote both shooting 50.0%. Foote, Clements-Owens, Quick and Michael Joseph have started all six games with Riley having started five.

COMING UP
Following Tuesday's game against Piedmont, the Bulldogs will be off for nine days to focus on exams. The 'Dogs will then travel to Longwood for a 7 p.m. game on Thursday, Dec. 19 before traveling to Raleight, North Carolina for the final non-conference contest against NC State on Sunday, Dec. 22.
