PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Citadel men's basketball team opens the 2021-22 season Tuesday night as the Bulldogs take on Pittsburgh. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center.

THE HISTORY WITH PITT
Tuesday's game marks the first meeting between the two teams on the hardwood. The game is the first of two this season for the Bulldogs against the ACC.

vs. THE ACC
Tuesday's season opener against Pitt is the first of two games against members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Bulldogs will also face Duke on Nov. 22. The Citadel last played a team from the ACC on Dec. 22, 2019 when the Bulldogs traveled to face NC State.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Pitt returns just one starter from a team that went 10-12 overall and 6-10 in the ACC a season ago. The Panthers defeated Gannon, 89-64, in an exhibition contest. Femi Odukale led the way with 20 points, while Mouhamadou Gueye finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots.

PRESEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Hayden Brown was selected as the Southern Conference Preseason Player of the Year in a vote by the league's head coaches. Last season, Brown averaged 18.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He led the league in rebounding and ranked second in scoring.

EXPERIENCE RUNNING THE SHOW
Tyler Moffe returns to run the offense for the second-straight season. Last year, Moffe averaged 4.1 assists to go along with his 9.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. He had a pair of double-digit assist performances, including dishing out 11 helpers in a victory over Presbyterian.

PROTECTING THE RIM
Stephen Clark led the Bulldogs with 46 blocks last season, including posting five blocks in three different games. He also averaged 5.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest.

1,000-500
Hayden Brown enters his final season with 839 career points and 462 career rebounds. He is on pace to become the 15th player in program history with 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
