Box Score CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team closed out its 2025 home schedule on Sunday afternoon with a hard-fought 1–0 loss to Mercer in Southern Conference action at Washington Light Infantry Field.
The Bulldogs (5-7-3, 2-4-2 SoCon) held their own throughout a tightly contested match, generating eight total shots and three on goal but were unable to capitalize on several key scoring opportunities.
Alice Williamson paced the attack with three shots, two on target, while
Samantha Grantham added two attempts.
Mercer (8-6-2, 3-3-2 SoCon) broke the deadlock in the 77th minute when Sydney Farr converted a low finish off a feed from Maggie Rollins, giving the Bears the decisive goal.
Zoe Santos anchored The Citadel defense with five saves on six shots faced, while the back line of
Ally Stickney,
Charlotte Seay, and Gabrielle Macer limited Mercer's chances and maintained composure under pressure.
The Citadel will conclude the regular season on Sunday, Oct. 26, traveling to Greenville, S.C., to take on Furman at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
