The Citadel Athletics

A celebrated member and captain of The Citadel’s rifle team … is acknowledged as the college’s initial first-team All-American in any sport … the rifle team won most of their Southern Conference matches and non-conference battles, including an outstanding upset victory over West Point, and a first place finish in the National Hearst Trophy Match … he established many new school and conference records … was designated as a Distinguished Military Student, elected to The Arnold Air Society, a member of the Block “C” Club in addition to being a Dean’s List student.
