The 98
th all-time meeting with the Terriers gives The Citadel (7-9, 2-3 SoCon) the opportunity to earn its seventh victory at home this season, the most since the Dogs won eight during the 2009-10 campaign.
A victory against league-leading Wofford (13-4, 4-0 SoCon) would also halt a four-game winning streak by the Terriers over the Bulldogs that began with a 69-62 victory in Spartanburg on March 2, 2013.
The Bulldogs enter their sixth league game led by the trio of
P.J. Horgan (15.8 ppg),
Ashton Moore (15.4) and
Jake Wright (11.2). Collectively The Citadel is tops among SoCon teams in field goal percentage (.457) and free throw percentage (.748).
Wofford travels to Charleston on its second four-game winning streak of the season after collecting victories over Chattanooga, VMI and Samford on two occasions.
Multi-faceted Karl Cochran leads the Terriers in scoring (15.1 ppg.), rebounding (6.2 rpg) and blocked shots (32). Wofford has the stingiest scoring defense (62.4 ppg) in the SoCon.
The game can be seen live on the
Southern Conference Digital Network and can be heard on
Fox Radio Sports 1450 with play-by-play announcer Mike Legg making the call for the Bulldogs.
The Citadel remains at home throughout the weekend when it hosts fellow Upstate rival Furman on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. Against the Paladins, Bulldog fans are encouraged to wear their Citadel basketball "BLUE OUT" t-shirts for free admission.
