CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel basketball team makes a brief road trip on Thursday when it heads to Birmingham, Ala., to square off against Southern Conference foe Samford at 8 p.m. ET in the Pete Hanna Center.
 
The Citadel (8-15, 3-9 SoCon) is looking to halt a six-game losing streak and in the process improve to 10-4 in the all-time series with Samford.
 
The Cadets, led by the scoring tandem of Ashton Moore (18.7 ppg) and P.J. Horgan (12.5), are looking to capture their third straight win against Samford for the first time since winning five straight against the Bulldogs from Jan. 16, 2010 to Jan. 7, 2012.
 
Samford (12-14, 5-8 SoCon) has climbed to sixth in the league standings due in part to a five-game winning streak. Including an 89-78 win against UNCG, the Bulldogs have managed two wins over Western Carolina as well as triumphs against Furman and at East Tennessee State.
 
The game can be seen live on the Southern Conference Digital Network and can be heard on Sports Radio 1450 with play-by-play announcer Mike Legg making the call for the Bulldogs.
 
The Citadel will return to McAlister Field House on Sunday where fans are encouraged to Pack the Mac at 5:30 p.m. when the Bulldogs host military rival VMI.

The Pack the Mac event is spearheaded by Dan Gowdown, a 1998 graduate of The Citadel and a letterman on the Bulldog basketball team. He is one of the founders of Charleston Rental Properties, a full-service rental property management company serving Charleston and its surrounding areas.
