CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel basketball team begins its final road trip of the Southern Conference regular season this weekend at Furman when the two teams battle at Timmons Arena on Thursday at 7 p.m.
 
The Bulldogs (9-16, 4-10 SoCon) are looking to rebound from a difficult 84-69 setback to VMI on Sunday, while at the same time avenge a 74-62 loss to Furman earlier this season.
 
In order to snap their three-game losing skid to the Paladins (7-18, 4-10 SoCon), The Citadel will need to more production out of Ashton Moore (18.6 ppg) and Jake Wright (9.0).
 
Moore, with a 36-point effort last week, became the first player in program history to amass at least 1,300 points while hitting 400 field goals, 200 3-pointers and 200 free throws.
 
Meanwhile, Wright moved into third among freshmen sharpshooters in program history. He passed Matt Van Scyoc for most 3-point field goals made (59) after hitting 9-of-17 (52.9%) from beyond the arc in games against Samford and VMI last week.
 
Furman is marred in a three-game losing streak that began with a 74-68 loss on Feb. 7 at Mercer. The Paladins dropped a pair of contests last week on the road at VMI (93-59) and East Tennessee State (66-59).
 
Stephen Croone (17.1 ppg) and Devin Sibley (10.2) lead the way for Furman offensively, while Kris Acox (7.4 rpg) anchors the post. The Paladins are 6-5 at home this season, including a 3-3 mark in league play.
