FAST FACTS
• The Citadel's 146 points is the highest single game points total in the NCAA this season.
• Zane Najdawi posted his first career double-double with a game-high 28 points and 12 rebounds against crosstown rival College of Charleston. The sophomore broke his previous career-high by six points and two rebounds and finished a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Najdawi then followed that performance with another double-double against Johnson University (Fla.). He is the first Bulldog to post back-to-back double-doubles since Mike Groselle did so in 2011.
• The double-double against College of Charleston marks the 11th time in program history that a Bulldog has posted a double-double against the Cougars.
• Coach Baucom needs just one more victory to reach 200 career wins.
• This year marks the 117th season of basketball at The Citadel.
• This season, the Bulldogs will face six opponents for the first time in program history with four being played in the first six games of the season. The Citadel will welcome Johnson University-Florida and Truett McConnell to McAlister Field House but then face all other first-time opponents on
the road including the first game in program history to be played in Arizona at Arizona State.
• The Bulldogs will also host the inaugural Holy City Hoops Classic from Dec. 2-7 that features Colgate, USC Upstate, Campbell and Toccoa Falls.
• Last year was the first time in four seasons The Citadel did not face an ACC opponent but the Bulldogs renew that tradition this season when they travel to Virginia Tech. The former Southern Conference foes have faced each other 19 times before but this will be only the second time since 1966.
• Head coach Duggar Baucom welcomed nine freshmen to the squad over the summer, marking his largest recruiting class as a head coach. All nine freshmen have seen action over the past two games and contributed 87 points.
• Preston Parks turned in two solid performances to open the season for the 'Dogs going for 12 points against College of Charleston and then dishing out 10 assists and tallying eight steals against Johnson University (Fla.). The 10 assists ranks third most in a single game in program history and eight steals ties a single-game record that was set in 2004.
• Guard Frankie Johnson and forward Leandro Allende both started the first two games for the 'Dogs, marking the first time since Feb. 1, 2016, that The Citadel started two freshmen.
